The John Lennon Tour Bus Will Be The Recording Studio For Black Eyed PeasThe Black Eyed Peas announced that the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, non-profit mobile recording and multimedia studio, will be the official recording studio of the Peas’ upcoming E.N.D. tour. The state-of-the-art facility, on which Fergie recorded “Fergalicious” and several other cuts from her solo CD, will also serve as the recording studio for upcoming student projects in cities along the Peas’ tour. The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus supports innovative programs for young people. The Bus goes to schools, Boys & Girls Clubs and campuses across the country working with students to create music/video/multimedia projects. From now until April 10th, the Bus will host VIPs and contest winners for tours of the unique studio environment, and will provide Apple Education students from 5 markets the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to write and record an original song and make a music video. Lennon Bus on-board engineers will work with the students to come up with the ideas, words, and images and will help produce the finished project. The students will then be granted access to see the Grammy-Award winners perform. The Bus is also running a special promotion with Musician’s Friend, sponsored by GHS Strings and Epiphone Guitars. Two lucky winners will be flown to the Peas’ Tacoma, Washington date on April 10th, will get access to the Bus, have a special meet and greet with the Peas and see the show. “I think it’s great that the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus goes around America on tours like ours.” says will.i.am. “Especially now in America, when a lot of money has been taken away from music in schools. The Bus teaches music, lets kids learn and helps fill the void of the lack of funds that are allocated for music and arts.” Adds Fergie, “I wouldn’t have been able to release The Dutchess without this Bus coming with us on tour, and going before shows, after shows, doing vocals here and there. It’s such a great chance for people who may not have lived in LA or NY or Atlanta, to have a chance to show their skills. It’s an amazing tool.” The Bus reaches over 250,000 students a year through its tours and workshops. For more information on the Bus please visit lennonbus.org. |
