When Phoenix first arrived at the studio to record their new album, Alpha Zulu, the room was a joyous mess. The space had become nothing more than a storage closet during the pandemic. Things were strewn all over the place... except these items were not cables, keyboards, drums, or other items one would expect to find in a normal recording studio. The items were paintings, sculptures, and other pieces of art from carious moments in history. You see, in this room, the room where Alpha Zulu cam to life, was located inside the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris' Louvre Palace. Phoenix, the French-born alternative band consisting of members Thomas Mars, Laurent Brancowitz, Deck d'Arcy, and Christian Mazzalai (the last two are brothers) created their latest album inside one of the most famous museums in the world.
