Nikki Snelson, who starred as Brooke Wyndham in “Legally Blonde the Musical” on Broadway, takes on the roles of director and choreographer of Lindenwood University’s production of that show, according to Playbill.com.
Snelson told the St. Louis Post Dispatch, “Natalie [Krivokuca, who plays Brooke Wyndham] is a wonderful athlete, and it’s awesome to see her do the jump-rope dance. The kids are very excited about it. I told them, this is one of the few times you can see actors of the appropriate age playing college students and law students. They have so much spark, it’s great.”
Snelson, who has been a performer for years, recently stepped away from the stage to focus on working with musical theatre students. She directed a production of “Ain’t Misbehavin’” at a conservatory in Singapore and will return there this year to direct its production of “Chicago”.
She said, “My mother wants to know when I’ll get back onstage myself. And I will. I am not through performing. But one thing has led to another, and I love it.”
“Legally Blonde the Musical” runs Oct. 29-31 at Lindenwood University’s J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts in Missouri. Performances begin at 7:30 PM.
