Summer 2023 will find thousands of middle and high school students returning in full force to music camps and similar programs of study across the country. Most hosts curtailed in-person operations in 2021 owing to the pandemic, and many did not resume them entirely in 2022. But the way looks clear as of this writing for camps, festivals, institutes, and similar events for young musicians to come roaring back this year.
In this year's edition of the In Tune guide to summer music study, we will revisit the top reasons you should consider taking part in one of the many programs around the country. We will give special attention as we do so to the benefits of attending an event hosted by a college or university. We will also look at some of the educational opportunities offered at summer camps and similar programs of study to keep up with the ever-changing world of music.
