EDM is an acronym for “Electronic Dance Music,” but in today’s popular culture, it’s proven to be so much more. Since the term’s widespread acceptance, and the music’s embrace by a generation in the early 2010s, “EDM” has become a dubious calling card for the commercialization of dance music culture and the culture of excess that came with it.
The EDM era introduced a swath of massive and hyper-produced concert events, and it took DJs out of dark corners of small nightclubs and made them into celebrities on par with pop music icons like Snoop Dogg and Post Malone, both of whom collaborated with the famed DJ and producer, Tiësto, on his latest album, 2020s The London Sessions...
